This is the same bug we've been moaning about here since 2017. Apparently adobe knows it's a problem but can't fix it. It's a Heisenberg. Not a shock considering their track record. The big shock is how Apple lets it into the App Store. It should be banned.

Yes... these are the symptoms we have all been here asking them to fix. I recently took a trip to Bali and only had my phone to offload photos from my camera for editing in Lightroom. Phone would heat up then battery would die. My workaround was to always reboot the phone after using LR, then immediately force quit the app after reboot. Of course I would randomly forget. Really the worst iPhone app I've ever experienced in terms of massive bug. Unfortunately I can not find any other app that offers such good raw editing with cloud syncing so I keep using it.

I truly believe that Adobe wants to fix this 5+ year old bug but don't know how. They need to rewrite the app from scratch. Until then we should all move this thread to the Apple forums. If Apple was aware of how terrible this bug is they would remove it from App Store and force Adobe to deal with it.

Yup. Adobe should be ashamed. I just got home from a 3 week vacation shooting a ton of raw photos on Leica. Lightroom mobile was continuing to overheat and drain battery. I'd have to force quit and reboot everytime I opened it to prevent my phone from draining by dinner. I had a friend at Adobe look into this for me. He said they know the problem is still happening but can't reproduce while in debug mode. They call it a Heisenberg. I call it super lame. Rewrite it from the ground up. While you're at it rewrite everything. Especially After Effects... and fire that entire team.

Looks like if you try to report a quality issue on the iOS app store it takes you to adobe. So instead I just reported it as a scam or fraud which goes to Apple. I suggest everyone else do this. Shame on you Adobe!

As I mentioned I think I remember that this was their first iOS app and it was written in Adobe Air (i.e. Flash). Probably ported to native code over the years with some Adobe translation libraries. Not fully native iOS code. So they probably need to full re-write which Adobe rarely does. Instead of bugging execs at Adobe who will do nothing, a beteer route would be to bug Apple's App Store to report it. I can't imagine they would allow an app to obverheat like this. They will either force Adobe to fix it or remove it from the store.

here's my suspicion. Lightroom mobile was one of the first adobe apps ported to iOS. They were still hot on Flash and Air. I bet this is an Air app running in emulation. Needs to be rebuilt from the ground up.

Their engineers obviously confused "color temperature" with "temperature". ;-)... so sad that Adobe has ignored this glaring problem for so long. My latest trip last month made me decide to abandon LR full stop... got results in LR that I did not match through ACR in After Effects producing lots of unknown noise. Adobe is a joke these days... just not sure what to replace it with.

This is funny. From my memory that sheep is the voice of one of the original coder's mother (Dave H?). Been there since I've been using AE back in 1995. The UI actually used to have a little sheep icon in the effects control.

Really?! Just now making this a bug? I reported this while I was in Thailand in 2019. Has happened on 3 newer iPhones since. And like my initial "bug" report, almost everyone here has given you detailed steps on how to repro. You guys are so lame.

Nishu... its great that you finally fixed your bug. But this is not helpful for my studio since you will not fix v18. My studio never updates software for at least 3-6 months after a major release, and never in the middle of a project. We will not be pushing out v22 until at least May when our current project wraps. I know most studios have the same policy. Please reconsider updating 18.x. Thanks.

Hey ADOBE! I really LOVE lightroom but this is such a show-stopper. It's now been four years since this thread started and the problem is worse than ever. I just sat in Santa Barbara experiencing it constantly in 75 degree temps. You claim you can't reporduce? I dont believe you. I live in the Bay Area and would be happy to come down to your San Jose office and sit outside with you for 30min to show you how bad this is (I'm vaccinated and will happily wear propper PPE).

Hi. I am trying to share a photo from Lightroom to Instagram on iPhone 11Pro with iOS14. It doesn't work... I get this weird generic screen (attached) and the share button doesn't do anyting when I tap it. I can share fine to Facebook. Also can save the photo to my camera roll then post fine to IG from there. Tried deactivating both accounts and reinsatlling to no avail. Really frustrating. Any thoughts?

Same issue been biting me. Been editing photos in Thailand 80+ degrees on iPhone XS. Lightroom causes the display to dim as soon as I change color temperature (no pun intended). I have to reboot phone or let it sit a while. Also seems to be draining battery when open in the BG. If I look at iOS brightness prefs they are still fully bright.., LR is taking it over, and what sucks is it is dimming the image, not the display... if I post to Instagram it's dim. Incredibly frustrating.
